Ao Po Grand Marina and Ao Po Marina Village are part of a 150 rai area development plan in the North East of Phuket. This plan includes the development of private villa’s, a 80-room 5-star boutique hotel and two man-made lagoons. The construction of the Marina Village, featuring all major facilities like restaurant, bistro, clubhouse, retail outlets and offices for marine-related businesses, is due to begin October 2008.

25 - 26 October 2008 - Ao Po Grand Marina hosts Open Boating Days
Ao Po Grand Marina will be the centre of attention over the 25th - 26th October weekend for the first, annual “Simpson Marine Open Days”. On this unique event Simpson Marine plans to showcase a selection of popular power and sailing vessels. Visitors will be able to inspect pleasure craft from the reputable Azimut (47 and 55 models), Beneteau (including the new Beneteau Flyer 750) and the Maxum range, and various brokerage and charter vessels. Brokers will be on hand to answer any boating enqueries and to highlight the endless options of the boating lifestyle in Asia. Visitiors are welcome daily from 10 am to 4pm. A BBQ and refreshments are available from noon till 3 pm.

   1 October 2008 - Tawan Cruises operates from Ao Po Grand Marina
Tawan Cruises, one of Phuket’s premier luxury poweryacht charter operators, has chosen Ao Po Grand Marina as it’s new homebase as of October 1st 2008. “Guests will arrive directly into Phang Nga Bay from Ao Po Grand Marina, the deep water fuel dock is a great asset, the location is stunning and the Marina is in line with our quality standards and only will get better as more guest facilities will be completed in the time to come ”.
Tawan Cruises operates 5 power yachts: an Azimut 50, a Riviera Sports Cruiser M400, a Riviera Sports Cruiser M430, a Riviera Flybridge 42 and a Riviera Flybridge 40.

     Boat ramp for trailerable boats opens October 2008
Ao Po Grand Marina is in full preparations to finish the construction of its boat
ramp at the South end of the marina. The boat ramp is equipped with full launching facilities for all trailerable boats and will open in October 2008.

   Ao Po Grand Marina to host Opening Party of the 2009 Puravarna Phang Nga Bay Regatta (26- 30 Jan 09)
The fun and celebrated Puravarna Phang Nga Bay Regatta, now in it’s 12th year and with an expected record number of entries, will open its 4 racing days in Ao Po Grand Marina. The regatta leads the yachts through the most stunning waters and scenery of Phang Nga Bay, with yachts anchored at a different location every night. On the Opening Night, participating yachts will be safely moored in the marina, while their racing crews can fully enjoy another great Phang Nga Bay party!

     Ao Po Grand Marina commissions Sealift 45 boatlift
A new innovative development in hauling out-facilities, the Sealift 45 boatlift is a safe, fast and versatile machine. It lifts yachts with a boatlength up to 65 ft and up to 45 tonnes and can be adjusted to fit any hull shape, including large catamarans and keel yachts. The Sealift will be operational in April 2009.
